In elementary school in Texas, they had us learn Texan songs like
“Yellow Rose of Texas”, “The eyes of Texas are upon you” and “Deep in the Heart of Texas.”
And we studied the alamo and learned the cotton eyed joe.
I have nothing further to add.
Just ponder that this weekend.
