This dress cast a Mad Men spell on me. Another teal item in my closet.
Gah - 80s and teal.
It was never enough!
Vintage Ursula of Switzerland dress and jacket thrifted for $7.99.

ode to a grecian trip
If you came here today to see a thrifty deal…
AVERT YOUR EYES!! APPLE W! APPLE W!
It’s kind of a “deal.”
Forces against my control magnetized me into the dress area at Neimans during an employee discount event.
Grecian-themed Ali Ro dress made of the most wonderful waffled linen (is that a real thing?)
So soft. So drapey.
Love how the worn leather looks...

Wow. These pants are hideouswonderfulweird.
They definitely draw attention and say HELLO! (from waaaaay down the block)
When you see a perfect condition Escada anything in your size,
you just go ahead and take it to the dressing room with you.
And when you try on those hideous pants and they fit well
and are only $3,
you go ahead and buy them.

see her tumbling down
Say hello to the second item I picked up from the green-stamped $.50 cent rack.
It caught my attention with its soft fabric, velvet trimmings and 1/2 sleeves.
A bit of a military thing going on.
Adds a little electric blue spark to an otherwise basic outfit.
And is a great fit on me.
At fifty cents, there was no question it was coming to live with me in Deep Ellum.

ghost of neiman's past
I love when I find vintage Neiman Marcus.
Especially when I find it for $.50.
A colored stamp sale. Three green stamp fifty cent-ers came home with me. This blouse, a rad jacket (which will be the next post) and a huge, “golden girls,” all silk, purple, flowing lady dress which I sent to Marisa to transform.
Anyway, back to vintage Neiman’s.
The internet gave me...

goody! goodies!
I love a spread. A tasting. A flight.
So, anything falling into the category of “sampler” gets my attention.
Recently, I signed up for two monthly samplers.
A few days ago I got my second month of each.
Foodzie sends samples of small producer edibles :
I had already eaten one of those cocomels when this shot was taken.
A vegan caramel made with coconut milk. So smooth. ...

first coast
I suppose our “first and second coasts” would be the east and west.
HIstorically speaking, the east coast would be first coast.
But let’s be real.
Lots of places call themselves “the third coast.”
Eric and Erica (both copywriters at work - zing!) id’ed this outfit as Palm Springs and Love Boat.
I was going for more low rent a la Destin or Port Aransas....

double trouble
I love this combo of vintage-y sweater and thrifted vintage pencil skirt.
So much so, I have NEARLY the same thing vice-versa :
Both skirts, red sweater and purse thrifted.
Navy sweater F21 via Buffalo Exchange.
Navy sweater tie (wrapped around twice) from the dress that itched me.
Dress gone, tie stayed.
Which combo do you like better?! Red or Navy on top?
I’m a fan of...

say it together
gah
this sign cracks me up.
so clever. so hilarious.
This dress cost more than it should (as an affordable Kohl’s brand).
But was too good to pass up.
Not the best fabric but the design, colors, print (and pockets!) are just what I look for in a dress.

Sexy new beau.
Whatcha gonna do?
9 bones from Buffalo Exchange.
Something is…askew.
Let’s call that zipper a happy accident. I mean it sort of follows the leg line. Oh F21 you mass-producing, slave labor manufacturer, you!
