basket case
No, really…a basket case!
Thrifted for $3.99 here in Dallas.
So fun to carry around.
The blue flower pops like cuhrazy.
Also wearing Lela Rose for Payless heels, pants and top from Buffalo Exchange,
scarf (as belt) leftover from Crue project.

oooo art-y
Worn over the weekend to an art opening at Mighty Fine Arts
I love wearing this creative Matruska top to creative activities.
Always fits right in.
Also wearing a BCBG skirt I thrifted for $4.98.
The zipper was a little detached, but 30 seconds on my sewing maching fixed that.
A tiny little pocket! This thick black denim skirt also has some nice subtle bias seams.
Looks new and had dry...

WEEKEND WEAR!
This is my final Romper. ROMPER No 4
Buffalo Exchange/Dallas is responsible for this one, too.
Very thin, soft cotton makes this great for lounging at home/by the pool.
It’s definitely not shapely like the others.
But, still, a good addition to Steph’s Summer of the Romper.
I live in a loft building (it’s actually a historical landmark - a converted Cotton...

work it
I thrifted this two piece for $9.99 a while ago.
So slimming!
Alteration to the skirt was necessary, as it was double the size of the top,
which is why I haven’t worn it until now.
Several inches came off the width and length.
Yesterday, while walking through the Neiman’s photo studios,
I noticed the models swing their arms around with their hands dead-fish style
as they...

mini golden
I found another golden metal stretch belt I couldn’t live without.
Thrifted for $1.99.
This one is a tiny round chain and will look great with a fitted black dress.
All the other stuff I’ve worn before.
Piling the stripes on top of the zebra bandeau felt just right.
Check out Ruby risen from her death bed.
Just when I get all emotional about “it’s time,”
she...

first day
J Crew calls this Citron but, come on,
who would pass up any opportunity to write or say Chartreuse?!
This tag-still-on dress was purchased at Buffalo Exchange for $25. (Retail price = $80)
Besides the jolt of color and seamless pockets,
I don’t have to tell YOU what the extra special feature is.
The dress looked pretty great on its own, but I added the belt to Steph-ify it.

simply simple
Simple, but some fun details.
The jeans (Citizens of Humanity from Buffalo Exchange/PDX) are my favorite pair
and the top is a basic, but ruched sleeves make it more interesting.
Worn with a YSL belt from Buffalo Exchange/LA, heels I love from Buffalo/LBC (they match the belt weave!),
and my lovely thrifted vintage red Bottega Veneta icon purse (a splash of color to match the lips!). 100%...

it's in the hole
Can I get a golf clap for Romper #3?
I got this one last summer at Buffalo Exchange/Dallas.
Can’t remember how much it was, but certainly less than $20.
It’s a beaut in navy!
Very lightweight cotton.
Great for the Texas summer.
And even though still a romper, a different style than the other two I’ve shown so far.
my trick your trick
Happy Saturday.

We’ve seen this $4.98 Austin thrift find dress before.
Styled this time with : a newly thrift purse (1.99), my sweet thrifty bugle belt and Buffalo Exchange Seychelle’s. 100% Resale!
I thought I was over this dress, but definitely not.
Not sure if it’s the fab random dot pattern or my newfound really-in-shape feeling
brought on by the cleanse/detox system I’m...

a break in our regularly scheduled programming
The past week, I’ve been Netflixing the ‘77-‘81 show : SOAP
A half hr mock-soap opera which aired during prime-time,
the purposely cliche-filled show was the forerunner of
Empty Nest and Benson.
I’m surprised I’ve never heard of or seen this series before.
Made by the folks that brought us The Golden Girls,
you will recognize the credits font, the...

stay at a play
I so love my Stay Dress.
Works for many situations and is really comfortable.
This day I wore it with black heels to work, then switched to gold for play.
Which, in this case, was actually a play.
And you know how a theater can get oh so chilly.
So, I brought along my Neiman’s cashmere cape.
One of my favorite thrift finds ($3.98!), it nearly met its death in the lobby :
A bit...

i solemnly swear
Last week, I had to make an appearance in court.
Nothing to do with me - I am a subpoenaed witness
in a divorce case of someone I’ve done a little work for and the company is in dispute.
Anyhoo, the case was delayed because of overbooking or something.
Buuuuut we didn’t find that out until we were actually there.
So, this was my court outfit.
This cute Fossil* dress was a...

polka dot factory
This dress was thrifted in Long Beach for a couple bucks.
I couldn’t decide where to wear the scarf.
So, I ended up going for around the neck for work
and around the waist for Happy Hour. Echo Scarf and heels were both thrifted in Dallas.
Total cost of this 100% resale outfit?
About $10!

a purse and a perse
Gratuitous yoga posing!
It just came out!!
But, does exemplify the pliant quality of this
luxurious James Perse cotton dress.
The cotton is so so soft - like it’s sueded or brushed.
Thrifted the same day as the Bitten dress and Vittadini bag for just 3.98.
That was a total score thrift shop day. Big time.
I tied the gut area with the sash that came with the Bitten dress.

any drink with an umbrella in it
I dunno.
This outfit makes me think of Palm Springs, Dirty Dancing wardrobe, maybe a little early 80s + an asian theme.
But the characters in the pattern are jazz era.
Whatdya know?
Vintage polyester button-down, belt and purse from Buffalo Exchange/Dallas.
Pants from Buffalo/Long Beach, CA.
Shoes from Payless.
Popped collar from Attitudes R Us.

Stealthily dominatrix. BITTEN dress thrifted for $14.98.
And look at this born again leather whip bag :
Brand new-condition Adrienne Vittadini
purse
purchased at the same thrift store on the same day for $3.98 (wtf?!)
Hawt.
To top it off, I cinched the waist with a cheap, pleather-y belt I’ve had forever.
And Lela Rose for Payless flats.

white party
When I thrifted this Old Navy light weight sweater for $1.99,
I knew I wanted to find some white pants for an all white outfit.
Those pants showed up in the form of Todd Oldham jeans, thrifted for $2.99.
sweet!
I was concerned about taking white-on-white-on-white photos, so took it to the roof.
The top has nice detail on the hem, sleeves, neck and sides.
You can see some of it here in an...

aw snap! it's romper no2
Dark heather grey American Apparel romper “purchased” new. (An item for the Motley Crue project wasn’t needed & AA does not refund,
so exchange for something else was my only option. darn! heehee)
The material is 50/25/25 (poly/cotton/rayon), i.e. super soft and comfy.
I propose this is a not-suitable-to-wear-in-public item, but…
pretty much all regard for...

tuscan sun
I’ve been reading Under The Tuscan Sun, which I’m enjoying.
You’ve probably heard of it, because it was made into a film (which I haven’t seen - ‘cause the trailers were cheesy).
I grabbed the book at a thrift store for $2.99 to round up my purchase amount
so I could get a $10 punch on my punch card. haha.
This outfit is spring-in-Italy inspired.
