WEEKEND WEAR! Having lived in L.A. for 7 years, I’m generally a sucker for surf/beach wear.

I picked up this l’il Roxy dress at a surf shop in Seal Beach.
It’s a great throw-on, for sure.

the last of the crue influence
This is the last one…from the day of the party, which was Monday.
I had to wake up and get everything together,
get to a wig shop right when they opened, then work from 10-3,
and pick up Tara right after to drive to the Gaylord Texan to costume the fellas
and pop into the party after.

While picking up a few vests for the boys, I found this one for me!
Only $1.50 at Goodwill, it was a keeper.
Still had the NY & Company tag on it for $34.95.
At first, I was disappointed with the decorative fake pockets,
even though there was awesomely two on one side and one on the other.

For example, I wore this to fit a couple of the guys :
I got the blue mesh cotton top for $10 or so at F21 while shopping for The Crue.
It fit the time and mood. And was sooo on sale - who could resist!

I grabbed this Silence + Noise dress at Buffalo last week for $11.
At first I was just gonna rock it as is, but felt a little too….exposed.
It’s just not hot enough for that yet.
So, I switched it up to more coverage.
Very soft and I love the Dove pattern on the fabric.
But I don’t like how the pattern doesn’t even try to match up at the seams.

Man…though I buy sparingly, I love looking at Rue La La every day.
Two days ago, a great Zobha yoga top from the Rue that was $20 in stead of $50 arrived at my door.

When I end up wearing this navy Gap dress I purchased from Buffalo Exchange/Dallas,
I think, “Why don’t I wear this more?”
It’s a solid dress. Wonderful weight for spring and summer.
And I very much like navy!
I believe the reason is lack of hanger appeal.

When I bought this 90s(?) Ann Taylor sheath at the thrift store for $4.00,
I thought of it as just a simple, plain work dress.
In fact, I almost didn’t get it!
And it wasn’t perfect - I took in a bit of gaping under the arms. (Isn’t it nice that the pattern matches up? Luckily, my ghetto seam didn’t disrupt)

Betsey Johnson skirt was purchased when I lived in nyc, circa 1998.

I woke up late and threw this outfit together hastily.
Knowing I wanted to wear this $.99 thrifted vintage belt,
but also feeling a pants day,
the belt went where a belt doesn’t naturally belong.

This sweet spring dress was recently pulled outta the box
when I switched out the ol’ closet from winter to summer.
